Where is the studio?

The Studio Chicago is located on the Near South Side of Chicago. 1 block south of Cermak and a stones throw from McCormick Place and The Wintrust Arena. Only 8 min South of The Art Institute, 15 min from River North, 17 min from Lincoln Park, 22 minutes from Uptown and 17 minutes from the West Loop!

Tell me about parking / building access?

There is plenty of easy-to-find pay to park parking all along Michigan ave. and multiple spot hero parking lots within a short walking distance. Bookings over 6 hours will receive 2 free 24 hour parking permits. Access to the building will be granted by being buzzed in by our team. There is an easily accessible loading dock to unload larger productions. Our team will bring down rolling cards upon request for you to unload. The Studio is handicap accessible.

When can I rent the space?

The Studio can be rented any day of the week, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with rates starting at $165/hour. A 10% discount will be applied for bookings over 6 hours. Feel free to send requests for extended hours.

What photo equipment is available?

The Studio has 4 C stands, a large scrim, sandbags, apple boxes and a selection of 9' seamless backdrops and a variety of props that clients are welcome to use.

What else is included?

At The Studio, we have a prop closet full of fun items to incorporate into your shoots. You will also find a dressing room, clothing steamer, rolling clothing racks, hair & makeup chairs, full length mirrors, a fully equipped kitchen, heat & AC, a gorgeous bathroom and more!

What time of day is the light the best?

The Studio has floor to ceiling South and West facing windows (including in the kitchen), allowing the light to pour in all day! The space is also equipped with heavy canvas curtains that block ab out 75% of light for productions that need to be artificially lit.
